Earth Child

Not long after the completion of Us, came this painting, Earth Child.

Again, I used one of the five anonymous paintings I had found discarded in the UK.

The process began with me completely blanking out the entire canvas in a white wash, engaging with what presented itself and then exhuming back to this figure of a child. Much of the colour and markings in this painting were part of the found painting. All I added was the orange wash and as is common with the later stages of my painting, white.

The child motif would surface again in later works.
